What a remodeling contractor should give you before work starts
Expect a written scope that names every task, a schedule with a start date and a realistic finish, a statement of who pulls permits, and clarity on what is included in the price versus what is an allowance for you to choose. If any of those are missing from a quote, ask for them. A contractor who will not put the scope in writing is asking you to trust a memory.
